My Story
Growing up in a household with two architects for parents has meant constant renovations to our home. It is a world filled with creativity, problem solving, and sawdust, all of which play a huge role in the passion for building that guides my life. Since childhood, I’ve come up with ideas, then transformed them into something tangible through drawings, plans, and the sweat of my brow. I’ve written and filmed my own movies. I’ve built state-of-the-art bikes from scratch as a bike shop mechanic. I’ve learned how to perfect the mortise and tenon joint on countless projects with my dad, and welded in new floor pans on my ‘93 Jeep Cherokee. I’ve designed and built my own off-the-grid cabin in the Ohio woods, earning the money for every board and nail by working on construction sites after school and during summers. Despite my age, I have been put in charge of several construction projects, like framing walls and building outdoor decks for homes, because my bosses know they can trust me to problem-solve on the fly.
PVC Explosion Simulator (2011)
I built this in 6th grade to simulate explosions for the movies I was making.
